DEMON HUNTING TAKES OVER HARRODS
Creative Design / Concept Development / 3D Visualisation / CAD Engineering / Prototyping / Production / Installation
Creators & Makers were commissioned by Netflix to bring the world of KPop Demon Hunters to life within the iconic Harrods Toy Department.
Working from the initial creative brief, we developed the experience from early concept sketches through to detailed 3D visuals, comprehensive CAD design, production and final installation. The result was a complete transformation of the space, creating an immersive retail environment inspired by the distinctive visual world of the film.
At the heart of the installation was a bespoke interactive Derpy reveal display. Designed and engineered specifically for the project, the display incorporated custom electronics and programming to recreate Derpy’s mischievous appearance. Hidden within the darkened display, his illuminated eyes appear first before the full character is dramatically revealed, creating an unexpected moment of theatre for visitors.
We also designed and produced a giant KPop light stick podium, taking inspiration from the light sticks waved by crowds during the band’s performances in the film. The oversized replica was built as a freestanding centrepiece, complete with illuminated detailing and a holographic wrapped podium that catches and changes colour as visitors move around it.
To tie the entire experience together, the surrounding Harrods retail space was transformed with large-format KPop Demon Hunters graphics, incorporating metallic gold foil detailing alongside illuminated displays and carefully integrated lighting. Product merchandising was incorporated throughout, allowing the space to function both as an immersive brand experience and a premium retail environment.
From creative development and technical design through to specialist fabrication, electronics, graphics and installation, the project brought together multiple disciplines to turn Netflix’s on-screen world into a physical experience within one of the world’s most famous department stores.
The finished installation was a huge hit with both Netflix and Harrods, creating a bold and highly engaging destination for KPop Demon Hunters fans.
